There is still something you have to maintain no matter it is oil-less or oiled air compressor.  There is nothing maintenance-free. One thing you want to do is like a little air filter with every air compressor.

What you need to do is to clean it every month if you are a heavy user of air compressor. Cleaning the filter is not a big deal.  There are couple screws. Take these screws out and you will find reusable element here. Basically, all you have to do is to clean it out and wash it.

So that's something you need to do because this thing gets clogged of dirt that puts strain on the engine and the compressor. A dusty air filter may burn the motor when inhaling air becomes very difficult. Basically, that's what happens. There always is a little bit maintenance even if it is maintenance free.

There is a lot of different screws and stuff to take off to uncover the motor of an air compressor. Then you need to check on the bottom of your air compressor. You'll see a valve down on the bottom.  That valve you open it up to drain water inside the tank. You need to let it out once after use to avoid rust inside your tank. You know they could always rust out after a period of time but they won’t rust out though for real long period of time if you open that valve at the bottom.  So that's the two things really got to do and so when you get oil less air compressor, you still have to maintain.

There is a bunch of little screws to take off to get the plastic stuff off but it's not a big deal actually. It is a little common sense. When you run this thing constantly, you probably burn a compressor out. In other words, if you're using it and you know you need to give it a break. I have been using my air compressor for a number of years and it's still going.

It’s worth mentioning that you need long screw driver to reach the screw inside your device. Some air compressor’s screws are usually put in a pretty deep whole. So, you know that's a minor detail what some people don't have this stuff.

Dewalt 6 Amp-Hour 20-Volt Max Battery

I would like to introduce you to the new DeWalt 6 amp-hour 20-volt max battery. This is a new battery from DeWalt. That's different from DeWalt’s 6 amp-hour flex volt battery.

One advantage of the new 6 amp-hour 20-volt max battery over the Flex volt is that it's lighter than the Flex volt battery. The 6 amp-hour flex volt weighs 2 pounds 4.9 ounces while the dwell 6 amp-hour 20-volt max battery weighs 2 pounds 1.3 ounces. So there is a difference of 3.6 ounces.

Also, the 6 amp-hour 20-volt max battery is an overall smaller battery than the 6 amp-hour flex volt. the Flex volt is 3 and 1/8 inches high, while the new 20-volt max is 2 and 5/8 inches high.

Of course, the Flex Volt has the advantage of being able to power the DeWalt 60-volt max line, while this 20-volt max battery can't. both are rated at 6 hours but I did a real-world test to see how long each would last powering the new DeWalt cordless 20-volt max fan at full speed.

The new 20-volt max battery lasted 11 hours 40 minutes while my one-year-old 6 amp-hour flex volt lasted 10 hours 53 minutes. So, the 20-volt max actually lasted 47 minutes longer.

Given that my Flex fault has been used hard for a year and the 20-volt max 6 amp is new and fresh. They probably would have equivalent lasting power if they were both new.

There is a new XR logo on the newest DeWalt batteries. They're the same batteries but the newest ones with a new logo may have slight improvements. For instance, the new 5 amp-hour 20-volt max battery weighs 0.2 ounces less than the older one.

My conclusion is that if you just want a power to all 20-volt max tools, this new volt max 6 ampere battery has advantages and maybe for you.
